Another absolute cracker from the Unley library service, really well attended by a very appreciative audience, young and old. South Australian N Gauge* Society had their N scale model railway layout ‘Portland’ on display at the Unley Civic Library for three days during the school holidays plus a range of model trains and a number of static displays. I took 4 great nephews and a “ring in” from down the road ranging in age from 4 t0 12 and they all thoroughly enjoyed it. Detail of the modelling was, at times, amazing. Kids even got a go at driving the trains!!
We attended in the last hour of the three day event and the place was packed. Apparently the “show” included hands-on workshops and demonstrations throughout the three day display.
Part of the school holiday programme run by Unley Council of which they should be very proud, the library component is outstanding.
*N scale  = 1:160, meaning tiny. Not the scale one traditionally thinks of?
